The Star Cinema movie, “A Second Chance” is now considered as the highest grossing non-Metro Manila Film Festival movie n its opening day as it earned a whooping P43.3 million during its opening day on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Based upon the overall ticket sales recorded at 1:42 AM, Thursday, the movie is now an official box office record-breaker.
The sequel of the famous “One More Chance” featuring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo was well accepted by moviegoers as major cinemas nationwide reported that they added more midnight screenings of the movie “due to the deluge of audience in the evening.”
The main character of the movie, Popoy, portrayed by John Lloyd Cruz was so overwhelmed with the good news about his latest movie project with Bea Alonzo. The actor noted that he came from Hong Kong Disneyland but took time to personally give thanks to his fans for the support of the movie.
Based upon the Philippine box office records, the movie “A Second Chance” beat out the P32 million 2015 record of the romantic comedy movie “Crazy Beautiful You,” top-billed by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
“A Second Chance” is directed by veteran director Cathy Garcia Molina, the movie revisits the lives of Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) as they traverse the highs and lows of married life. It also stars Dimples Romana, James Blanco, Bea Saw, Janus del Prado, and Ahron Villena.
The film is showing in more than 250 cinemas nationwide.
