QUEZON CITY — After years of rumors surrounding his sexuality, Piolo Pascual finally had the courage to reveal the real deal.
In an exclusive interview with Manila Link, the 38-year-old actor who has been the subject of gay rumors for most of his career, confirmed that he has been in relationships with both women and men.
It can be recalled that Pascual was in a highly publicized relationship with actress and UN Ambassador KC Concepcion until it ended in bad terms in 2011. The said breakup was the talk of the town, sparking speculations that Concepcion found Pascual in bed with another male talent from their home station.
The actor neither confirmed nor denied this specific rumor, saying what is important is that he and his former girlfriend are now okay.
The two were recently seen smiling side by side on this Instagram snap by singer Erik Santos.
When asked if his son and ABS-CBN talent Iñigo knew about his sexual preference, the actor said that his son has always been accepting and supportive.
"He knows, kinausap ko before he even joined showbiz. Turns out, alam na pala niya. Kailangan na lang daw niya ng confirmation from me. I'm glad. I'm glad he accepts me."
Regarding the reason behind his admission of the truth, he says, "I don't want to hide anymore. Wala na 'kong pake kung ano'ng sabihin nila. [After] 21 years in showbiz, all I want is to be free and be with who I want to be with."
