Kapuso actor and National Youth Commission (NYC) commissioner-at-large Dingdong Dantes revealed once again and this time around he is firmed on his stand not to run for public office in the 2016 National Election. The actor categorically declined the offer of some parties and his supporters to run for public office particularly as a Senator in 2016.
The 34-year-old Dingdong Dantes was quoted as saying “I already categorically declined that. I’m not running. Nakikita naman natin there are more important issues more than my reconsideration. Bukod sa trabaho sa NYC, I’m a soon to be father,” Dantes said.
According to Dingdong Dantes, he wants to focus right now on his role as a father and loving husband to his wife Marian Rivera who is now pregnant with their first baby, a few months after the star-studded wedding dubbed as the Royal Wedding in the Philippines last December 2014.
Dingdong Dantes also explained that being an NYC commissioner-at-large is already enough for him, because he will still be able to serve the country even without holding an elective position in the national government.
Earlier reports noted that Dingdong Dantes alongside Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, were three of the names being considered by the ruling Liberal Party in its 2016 Senatorial line-up.
