American talk show host and actress Oprah Winfrey has a message towards Jake Zyrus, formerly, Charice Pempengco.
According to the news report released by the Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub, Jake Zyrus shared his experience and his little steps in coming out and revealing to public his preferred identity.
On her interview on Rated K is where he said, “A few weeks ago, binago ko mga pangalan ng mga social media sites ko at the same time parang na-feel ko rin na mayroon na akong enough strength to face everything. So parang sabi ko, ‘Heto na! Sige!”
His journey of coming out of who he really wanted to be is tough but then he was able to surpass all those criticisms because he was inspired by his fellow transgender and that he wanted them to know that if he has actually done it, others possibly could as well.
As per the rumors that he will undergo gender re-assignment, he just said that he has plans on future but “not anytime soon”.
Others may be struggling to identify what his gender really is but for him he was so sure and with conviction have said, “Ang alam ko sa sarili ko, hindi ako tomboy, hindi ako lesbian. Ang alam ko sa sarili ko lalaki ako.”
And Oprah’s message to him accordingly, “Nag-usap po kami noong ginuest po niya ako sa show niya 2-3 years ago. Tinanong niya sa akin what I’m up to, ganyan. What was I up to? Doon pa lan”g po sinabi ko na sa kanya na trans na ako. Sinabi po niya sa akin, ‘You know, I’m so proud of you.
