The spotlight is cast on her – all by her lonesome on the stage – yet she commands it by singing about a faint hope: "I had a dream my life would be / So different from this hell I'm living."
She pines for someone who abandoned her, her hands striking her chest, expressing her pain. "He slept a summer by my side / He filled my days with endless wonder / He took my childhood in his stride / But he was gone when autumn came," she sings.
