Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla who was detained for plunder case was allowed by Sandiganbayan First Division to visit his son, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, who is currently in the hospital for a gunshot wound on his chest. Sandiganbayan allowed Sen. Revilla to visit his son from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
The court effectively allowed Sen. Revilla a five-hour leave, considered by the court as a better bargain from his lawyer’s motion for a 3-hour furlough to visit Jolo Revilla who is at the ICU of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center.
Based upon the resolution of Sandiganbayan, the court permitted the senator to leave his detention place at 1:30 PM to go to the Muntinlupa hospital and come back to the Custodial Center not later than 8:00 PM.
The court also gave conditions for the Senator’s permit to leave his detention center such as the PNP is tasked to ensure the security detail of Sen. Revilla; the use of electronic communication gadgets is under the supervision of the police; media interviews are not allowed; and the expenses incurred will be shouldered by Sen. Revilla.
According to the motion filed by Sen. Revilla’s camp, the detained senator was “shocked” about the incident involving his son and asked the court’s permission to let him leave his detention cell to visit Jolo Revilla.
