Hero's welcome for the first South African Miss World 2014 after 40 years.
Current title holder Rolene Strauss is the first Miss World from South Africa since 1974 when the title was won by Anneline Kriel.

The 22-year-old medical student was handed over the title of Miss World 2014 at an alluring pageant stage in London where the beauty pageant was held by the first Philippine Miss World Megan Young.
Wearing the country's pride colors, the South Africans waved banners, portraits and images of the reigning Queen at the terminal in Johannesburg.
Ms. Strauss acknowledged a bundle of blooms from a young lady in a wheelchair. On her Instagram account she said "How will I ever be able to thank you South Africa? You have made my homecoming so extremely special. I will treasure this day forever!

Among those at the airport was the first South African Miss World in 1958, Penny Coelen-Rey, who is now a 74-year-old grandma.
"We can be genuinely pleased that she has brought the title again to South Africa," Penny Coelen said.
Strauss ventures into the airport terminal's lobby to stunning cheers and serenades from the popular Soweto Gospel Choir which was featured in FIFA World Cup. Also some of the fans conveyed a banner stating " Marry Me Rolene".
"I have no words to depict what I am feeling at this minute," Rolene Strauss said, including that joining in the Miss World 2014 challenge made her acknowledge how "effective" South Africa is.
