Malacanang Declared 3-Day Holidays for Pope Visit
Malacanang has declared 3-day holidays for Pope Francis visit to the Philippines on January 2015. January 15,16 and 19 will be considered special non-working holidays for the National Capitol Region or (NCR).
Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said in the media briefing the Proclamation No. 936 signed Tuesday December 23 " in view of the visit of the Pope , the head of the state of Vatican City."
Pope Francis is set to arrive in Manila on January 15. He is set to go in Malacanang Palace, hold Mass at the Manila Cathedral and meet families at the SM Mall of Asia Arena by the following day.
Pope's itinerary will also include a mass visit in Tacloban City on January 16, one of the most devastated cities after last year's Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
The next day, he is set to meet religious leaders of University of Sto.Thomas and hold another Mass at the Rizal Park. Then he will leave the Philippines on January 19.
