Robin Padilla Witnessed Shabu Being Cooked Inside At New Bilibid Prison
Action star Robin Padilla was sentenced to serve 17 years in jail in 1996 focused around a martial law order. He was discharged in 1998 after a new law diminished the punishment to six years.
Padilla said during an interview with Karen Davila on ANC's Headstart , he revealed that he personally owned a .45 caliber pistol while he served his sentence for illegal possession of firearms at the state penitentiary.
Padilla also witnessed a methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu being "cooked" inside or readied at the NBP's most extreme security compound and a detainee bringing an Armalite rfile while walking around in the compound.
“It’s an old story. When I got out of prison I showed it in (my movie)Hari ng Selda,” he added.
Contrary to what Mr. Padilla said,the New Bilibid Prison or (NBP) Superintendent Venancio Tesoro, who used to run the NBP’s medium security compound, told the action star that he was never detained at the maximum security compound.

Tesoro said “There was speculation at the time about a shabu lab in the maximum security compound but Robin was classified as a medium security inmate. He was only hearing stories,”
