Rolene Strauss of South Africa Wins Miss World 2014 (Video)
Miss Rolene Strauss of South Africa was declared as the winner of the 2014 Miss World beauty pageant during the coronation night held on December 14, 2014 in London, England. Megan Young, the 2013 Miss World title-holder, crowned the reigning Miss World 2014 at the end of the coronation night.image
Coming in second place during the 64th edition of the Miss World, is Miss Hungary’s Edina Kulcsar who won as First Princess while Miss USA candidate Miss Elizabeth Zafrit won as the Second Princess or the Third Runner-up of the beauty with a purpose pageant.
The winner of this year’s edition of Miss World, South Africa’s miss Rolene Strauss, is a fourth-year medical student and describes herself as having a “wild South African heart.”
During the 2014 edition of the Miss World, one of the highlights of the event was when the candidates of Miss World surprised their founder, Miss World Chair Julia Morley, with a tribute in form of a song number.
Miss Julia Morley was then greeted by the 1995 and current Bollywood royalty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Miss World 1953 Denise Perrier, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
The country’s candidate to the Miss World 2014, Miss Valerie Weigmann, failed to make to the top 10 but she made it as far as the Top 25 contestants out of the 122 entries from around the world.
