Fearless forecast for this year's 40th MMFF 2014 blockbuster film. The 8 official entries of this year's 40th MMFF or Metro Manila Film Festival are all set and ready for the movie fest or shall I say movie battle this December 25 of this year.
The 8 official entries of this year's 40th MMFF or Metro Manila Film Festival are all set and ready for the movie fest or shall I say movie battle this December 25 of this year. But only 1 question that always comes in our mind. Who will become the top grossing film and who's not? Hmm.
This is a difficult decision for me to prematurely judge the entries. And share my opinion to predict which movies will shine among the 8 finalist. I know this might cause trouble and hate to my blog but I just want to clarify my side.,this is just my honest opinion =) That's all!
Actors whose entries were on the list used of saying "Well, it's a friendly and healthy competition lang". You think its overrated? But they need to. This is what we call sportsmanship "kuno" in general. Needless to say during interviews and presscon.
But I highly doubt if there's nothing serious about them as this might also gauge their popularity as a star. Helllooo!!!
Being hailed by the MMFF and MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) Chairperson Atty. Francisco Tolentino the title of becoming the Certified Blockbuster Film this year means a lot. Hey!! Here is my point. Who don't want to earn from the movie after a long tiring shooting days and get extra bonus from the producers? Now tell me? I know you get my point.
So before 25th day of December will arrive, I'd like to share my fearless forecast of who among the 8 entries deserve the spot.
To begin with, here's the complete list of the 8 finalist.
1. Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo
2. English Only Please
3.Feng Shui 2
4. Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2
5. Magnum Muslim.357
6. My Big Bossing
7. Praybeyt Benjamin 2
8.Shake Rattle and Roll 15

Competing for the top list are:
Lead stars including Vic Sotto (My Big Bossing), Vice Ganda (Praybeyt Benjamin 2), and Kris Aquino (Feng Shui 2) are among the top entries for the blockbuster. Considering their huge fan base.
You might notice why I picked this 3 entries because in the first place, the first two movies are centrally focused on the comedy genre with a bit of drama, fantasy and its a family-oriented film that will suit the taste of every Filipino most especially the movie is shown on Christmas Holiday. Also, Filipinos love to laugh. While Kris Aquino's horror theme entry Feng Shui (Part 1) was also a huge success.
If you'll gonna ask me, for me it's either the 2 films.
Vic Sotto vs. Vice Ganda movie entries will compete for the title. Surely this is a big hit! Expect that.
And finally. movie entries including English Only Please and Magnum Muslim .357 will be the least watched movies and the floppiest entry for the 2014 MMFF. Why?
In my opinion, the movie didn't meet the basic ingredient of a movie for the Christmas season. Also lacking interest and appeal to kids. We know, majority of viewers who will going to watch the MMFF comes from the young generation. I'm sorry to the actors, film directors and producers if this may sound rude to you. Maybe for the awards night perhaps but for the top grossing film? This movie is a certified flop! (Peace!)
